work

das architects - architect

August 2016 - present

DAS Architects is a Philadelphia-based architecture firm specializing in boutique hospitality projects. DAS approaches projects holistically, designing everything from the architecture and interiors to the furniture selection and branding. I work as a designer and architect on a variety of projects.

My current work includes a 300-room hotel in Rittenhouse Square, the renovation of an historic hotel in West Philadelphia, and a 500 sf boutique retail kiosk in Center City (these are not on the website due to client confidentiality). I work closely with clients and consultants through all phases of the projects.

o-x studio, inc - designer/architect

November 2011 - June 2016

O-X Studio is a growing firm in Ann Arbor, MI that works in nearly all fields, including health care, residential, adaptive reuse and hospitality. When I began there, we were only 3 people; when I moved out of Michigan the firm had grown to 15. I worked on a variety of projects there, including boutique restaurants, residential renovations, health clinics, and large-scale offices for local automotive manufacturers. In addition, I was able to exercise my interest in digital fabrication to design and build custom lighting for select projects.

HOK Architecture - model fabricator

February 2011 - May 2011

For a short time after graduating, I worked as a model fabricator at HOK's flagship model shop in St. Louis. I assisted in constructing architectural models for client meetings and international competitions, working closely with designers to ensure that their vision came across. I used both hand-fabrication and digital techniques, including programming and operating the CNC router for site models.

amie gross architects - architectural intern

May 2008 - August 2008

Amie Gross Architects is a small architecture firm in New York City that works mainly with non-profit and community projects. While there I worked mainly on construction drawings and zoning studies, navigating the complex array of property regulations in New York City.

HOK Architecture - draftsman

June 2005 - August 2007

Prior to my enrollment in architecture school, I worked as an architectural draftsman at HOK Architecture in Washington, DC, a 130 person office that specializes in government buildings. While there, I worked extensively on construction documents for several high-profile projects, including the NOAA headquarters and the renovation for the Walter Reed Navy Hospital.
